Plain-English guide
Phone trade-in bill credits, without the billing jargon.
Headline value is not always the monthly total
Some trade-in deals split value into an immediate trade-in credit and a remaining amount paid through monthly bill credits. Subtract the immediate value before dividing the remaining promotion across the term.
Why the first bill can look wrong
Enrollment and trade-in processing can lag behind the device purchase. Carrier guidance describes activation windows measured in bill cycles. A later catch-up credit can make the cumulative total correct even when an earlier individual bill was missing a row.
What to compare every month
- The device installment charge
- The promotional credit amount
- The promotion description
- The line or device associated with each row
- The installment number and total term
When the pattern deserves review
Review is reasonable when the published start window has passed, the recurring amount is persistently wrong, the term conflicts with the offer, the credit is on another line, or correct credits later disappear.
